Cyclist-friendly places to eat in the south east. A work in progress. Venues close and new ones open all the time. Please post your recommendations and I'll add them to the list. (Adapted from an original list by Sue Dorey and John Silvertown.)

Church Farm Cafe, Ardeley, nr Stevenage, SG2 7AH. A community interest company farm which boasts a "free range experience" and an "ecological approach". This a favourite lunch and tea stop with CLCTC riders and other cyclists.

Emily's Tea Shop, The Valley, Whitwell, Hitchin SG4 8BN. Another well-loved tea room tucked away from the main road that you might just miss it.

The Country Bumpkin, Tewin Hill, Tewin, Hertfordshire AL6 0LL is good for a coffee stop - closes at 12.30 on Sunday, 4 p.m. otherwise.

Silver Ball Transport Café, London Road, Reed, Hertfordshire SG8 8BD.

Blackmore Tearooms, The Green, Blackmore, Ingatestone, Essex CM4 0RL. One of several good places to stop in this pretty Essex village.

Great Missenden ChurchChurch Lane, Great Missenden, Bucks, HP16 0BA. On summer Sunday afternoons only.

The Little Barn Cafe, Stacey's Farm, Thursley Road, Elstead, Godalming, Surrey GU8 6DG. (Used by Fleet Cycling)
