Train times to Redhill: either catch the 09.38 from Victoria, arr. 10.16 or catch the 09.44 from Blackfriars (09.50 London Bridge), arrive at 10.22. Leader will meet at London Bridge at 09:30 for the 09.50 train. Ride sets off at 10.30..

You can use contactless/Oyster card for the journey; FP/60+ cards need an extension from Coulsdon South.

Dawn this Sunday is 3.55am, giving you a few hours of daylight before joining the 7am start of this laid-back pedal around central London. Mid teens temps, sunshine and uplifting urban vistas are forecast. Beat the crowds and cars and get a fresh perspective on our beloved home city.

The ride is mostly flat and only 17km /10miles. We will finish for a coffee/cake around 8.30am at Kings X... which should allow plenty of time for those that wish to join a later 2/3* ride.

Meet 7am at the Crick Institute entrance to St Pancras Station on Midland Rd."

This 70 km (ascent: 520m) ride through the Essex country side allows us time to visit the Kelvedon Secret Bunker. We travel past it often but have never stopped at it. The history of its construction and use right up until the1990s is fascinating. There is an audio guide tour which takes 50 minutes, although it is possible to linger much longer.
Lunch: there is a cafe at the Bunker with limited food options. I suggest you bring a picnic which you can then supplement with food from the cafe, if necessary.
Entry to the bunker is £15. Those who wish to go round can take the tour while we wait for 50 minutes. Anyone who wants to take more time can do so and it is possible to return from Brentwood, just 7 miles away.
Meet at Liverpool Street Station at 9.18am for 9.38am train to Chelmsford, arriving at 10.10am.
